  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • Kosher salt
  • Cracked black pepper

  • For the Smoky Glaze
  • ¾ cup Thai chili
  • 2 tablespoons pureed chipotle in adobo

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Mix the brown sugar, dry mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper to taste in a medium bowl. This will create the dry rub mixture. Oil the tempeh on both sides and sprinkle the dry rub mixture on both sides of it. Make sure to coat and spread evenly on both sides. Place the ribs in the oven for roughly 15 to 20 minutes or until tender and cooked through. Add all of the ingredients for the Smoky Glaze into a medium saute pan and season with salt and pepper as desired. Bring the mixture up to a simmer on medium high heat and reduce until the sauce turns into a syrupy consistency about 2-3 minutes. Stir often and make sure the mixture does not burn. Once the tempeh ribs have been removed from the oven and brush the sauce on each side. Serve the ribs.
