Who’s ready to continue their hot girl summer while listening to Megan Thee Stallion’s new album?

The long-awaited release of Megan Thee Stallion’s sophomore album, Traumazine, has been set for this Friday, August 12.

Before announcing her album on Thursday morning, Megan thanked her “hotties” on Twitter for their love and support while she dealt with what she called lingering label concerns prior to her release.

“Y’all know I always have problems with dropping my music under this label,” she tweeted. “All these games and having to go to court just to put out my art has been so stressful. Thank you hotties for rocking with me through the bulls–t WE ALMOST OUT 👏🏾 LETS STAY FOCUSED AND RUN THIS LAST ONE UP!”

The rapper, whose actual name is Megan Pete, discussed her legal fight with the record company 1501 Certified Entertainment on Thursday, according to Variety. The label contends in the lawsuit that last year’s Something for Thee Hotties mixtape did not meet the requirements of an album.

Traumazine will be released less than two years after Megan’s debut, Good News, which featured the songs “Savage,” “Body,” and “Goods in the Hood.”

The subject matter of Traumazine appears to have a far more somber tone than her upbeat debut album, Good News, so far from the album’s marketing.

When a fan asked the rapper if it was hard for her to write material for her sophomore album, Meg responded, “Yes very 🥺 saying certain things you’ve never said out loud before is hard.”

The “Savage” rapper also posted the 18-song track listing for the album, which features her duet with Dua Lipa on the song “Sweetest Pie.” The album will feature Future, Latto, and Jhene Aiko as well.

Additionally, Megan released a 20-second teaser for her upcoming album in which the character visits a soggy funeral and leaves a solitary rose atop a coffin.
