Justine Skye Reveals Police Were "Dismissive And Disrespectful" After

Justine Skye recently accused her ex-boyfriend, Sheck Wes of allegedly physically abusing her during their relationship, and she laid it all out on Twitter. The singer even went on to describe an incident that happened when she was walking with friends and her current boyfriend, in which the rapper stalked and attacked them.

And after she made those accusations, Wes decided it was time to tell his side of the story:

To which a back-and-forth feud between the former couple incited for all to see. “I literally have footage of you jumping over the fence of my crib to attack me Sheck…your lies are even more disrespectful,” Justine said in a tweet, and followed it up by providing video proof.

The denial by the “Mo Bamba” lyricist, and the persistent accusation by the 23-year-old went on, and got more revealing with each post. She accused her reported abuser of slapping her in the face with money, verbal misconduct, and detailing an account of police officers holding him back from ambushing her.

Yesterday, the Brooklyn native attempted to file a police report the mistreatment she received from the 20-year-old, but what happened to her was met with rudeness on behalf of authorities, according to XXL. “Different precinct now trying to file the last report but their so rude, dismissive and disrespectful,” she wrote in an Instagram story post. “Called me a ‘difficult victim’ when he wouldn’t even let me finish telling him what happened before he could give me a list of reasons as to why he can’t help me, Deputy Holden.” In another story post she continued: “This is why most women don’t go to or call the police by the way… especially dealing with male officers/deputies whatever tf… but don’t let them discourage you because I for sure am not.”

And another precinct later, it seems things may have worked out in her favor, but there’s no confirmation that she actually filed a claim:

According to authorities, the protocol for abuse, especially physical is to call and report it, but it often seems as if women, especially those of color aren’t believed by those who are supposed to help them. It’s sad because most don’t end up getting the assistance and resources they need to find justice or even get emotional and medical support. It further promotes the stigma of keeping domestic violence a secret, which is not okay.

In October for Domestic Violence Awareness month, Skye released her single, “Build” where she opened up about her own domestic violence experience without naming her attacker: “I felt stupid, angry, depressed.. blamed myself. Trying to figure out how someone who claimed they loved me so much could find such evil within themselves to hurt me mentally and physically. Learned a lot about the people I chose to call my “friends”.. and about myself. I was one of those people who would be like ‘No man would ever put their hands on me!'” Watch below:

Although she didn’t name Khadimou Fall (Sheck’s real name) as the person who hurt her, until now, many speculated the song was in reference to her relationship with him.

According to Rolling Stone, Sheck’s legal team recently released this statement: “We are actively investigating the allegations against Sheck Wes and are fiercely standing by him through this. He has denied any wrongdoing whatsoever or violence of any kind and we believe him. He will defend himself against this serious defamation of character with any and all legal remedies available and for now will leave this with the legal process. Sheck is a strong supporter of the rights and liberties of all people and is appalled by these wrongful allegations and attempts to assassinate his character. He will no longer sit by and allow these falsehoods to live on any further.”
