Solange is forever making major moves in silence. At the end of last year, the singer took a break from social media, but yesterday, she let us know she was back in an unexpected way. Sis launched a new page on the social network, BlackPlanet and took it over because she’s just that bomb. If you didn’t know, the platform was created in 1999 with the black community in mind. Along with her re-activated account, the 32-year-old gave us new visuals and tour dates to fawn over, which makes us think…is she coming out with new music soon?
Last fall, the mother of one told T Magazine that her newest album was almost done being recorded, and it should be out soon, so there’s a possibility all of this could be a part of the marketing. Let’s be real, A Seat At The Table needs a follow-up! In an effort to bring the platform back, her page is full of GIFs, a looping futuristic video, and messages like: “When your body is all you have you best take care,” and “How much of ourselves do we leave at home and how much do we carry with us forever?”
We know the actress is a deep thinker, but could she just be sharing her creative thoughts with us? Or could it be something more…like stills from already filmed music videos?
Who knows, but songwriter is not holding back in the number of festival performances she has coming up this year: Coachella, Primavera, and Bonnaroo. Whatever she has planned, we’re so ready for it:
