Angela Simmons Yo Gotti Breakup Is Official

After increasing online speculation, Angela Simmons recently confirmed that she and Yo Gotti have officially ended their relationship after two years together. In an exclusive interview with Angie Martinez, Simmons put all rumors to rest and revealed that the two were no longer together, but stopped short of sharing the reason why.

“No, I’m not with him,” Simmons said when prompted by Martinez. “Yeah, not my choice, but you know, I respect him. It’s all love.”

When asked if the breakup was her choice, Simmons shared that breaking up would not have been an option. “I wouldn’t have chose it, but it was what was best. But I wouldn’t have chosen it,” she said. “It was my choice, you know, I just, I had to make a decision.”

She then acknowledged the public display of love that Yo Gotti expressed to the world beginning with his 2016 hit “Down in the DMs” that famously referenced his crush on her.

“And I can publicly say that I’m not with him anymore, but as far as like details, I would just never,” Simmons explained about why she isn’t sharing the specifics of the breakup. “It’s nice though, but nah. Like I’m just not that girl, Like I’m just not that girl ever to share that much more, but yeah, we’re not together.”

Simmons added that despite them no longer being a couple, she still wishes Yo Gotti the best. “Look, I just again like, much love and respect him, and just like he’s doing his thing. I’m happy for him.”

She also stated that “her feelings were hurt” at the relationship ending and that “it didn’t feel good” to end things.

Simmons and Yo Gotti began dating back in 2022 and hard-launched their relationship on New Year’s Day 2023. The couple also made notable red carpet appearances during their relationship, including the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
