The NAACP Image Award Winner and youngest winner of a BET Award has now added narrator to her resume at just eight-years-old.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z‘s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, was tapped to narrate the audiobook for Matthew A. Cherry‘s Oscar-winning short film, “Hair Love.”

The cunning announcement was made on Cherry’s social media accounts and included a sample from the four-minute-long audiobook.

The 38-year-old wrote and directed the Academy Award-winning animated short film in 2019. The Kickstarter campaign raised over $280,000 and broke the record for the highest amount raised for an animated short.

Originally released as a children’s book in May 2019 with illustrations by Vashti Harrison, Hair Love features producer and actress Issa Rae and tells the heartfelt story of an African American father doing his daughter’s hair for the first time. Per Cherry, “This story was born out of seeing a lack of representation in mainstream animated projects, and also wanting to promote hair love amongst young men and women of color.”
