Niecy Nash and her wife Jessica Betts were the latest guests to join Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Adrienne “Gammy” Banfield-Norris in the new season of their award-winning show, and in true Red Table Talk nature, the candid conversation revealed a lot about their love.

The actress disclosed that prior to being in a relationship with Betts, she had never considered being with a woman.

“I’ve dated men all my life, too. Married a couple of ’em,” shared the 51-year-old who was previously married twice. “But it was the first time in my life I had ever felt fully seen.”

The musician went on to share how the When They See Us actress had to chase her as “She was very reluctant.”

“I was chasing her, I was like, ‘Good morning,” the 41-year-old recalled. “Crickets,” Nash added.

The NAACP Image Award Winner explained that her hesitancy was due to two reasons.

“…I had said on the other side of this marriage I’m going to get me a little young 25-year-old … and I was just going to live my life and just have fun and I’m going to run these bachelorette streets,” said Nash.

“The second reason was because I was fearful that our friendship might not survive it,” the Claws actress continued. “I never want this person to not be in my life, so I don’t know what the running rules are.”

Now that Nash has found her “hersband,” she joked that she has yet to receive a welcome packet from the LGBTQ+ community.

“And let me just tell y’all something, I’mma say this to everybody who has been in the community or is comunnity-adjacent: I haven’t got a welcome packet!”
