Lovebirds Michael B. Jordan and Lori Harvey might be on their way to becoming fan favorites in the couple’s division.
The couple not only speaks highly of each other. They hold no punches when it comes to splurging on each other’s gifts. Not to mention, they also have adorable pet names for each other.
“Mike calls me Turtle,” says the SKN owner. “My baby calls me Turtle.”
The 34-year-old calls her “turtle”, while the 24-year-old calls him “nugget.” And the fans are wondering how the origins of these pet names came about.
With the SKN owner, recently promoting the skincare brand, Harvey reveals in an interview with Access Daily about how the reasoning behind the pet names.
Before the young business owner was able to give an explanation, Mario Lopez jokingly asks “You got a hardshell?”
Responding to Lopez’s question and guess, the Memphis native says, “honestly because he says I take so long to get ready,” she continues. “Like I move on turtle time. So he’s like, ‘OK, Turtle. All right, let’s go.’”
“It just stuck,” she states.
The couple has been going strong for some time now. Confirming the rumors swirling around their relationship back in January, the fan-favorite couple has been open with fans about how they operate within the loving relationship.
Although this isn’t Harvey’s first relationship to hit the public, it is the first person that we are seeing the Newark native claim publicly.
Understanding that the public wants more from the couple, the 24-year-old expresses how she gives the public a little bit of insight, while still keeping the relationship private.
“I think we’re both very private people naturally,” she reveals. “So we just decide, if we take a picture or whatever it is, do you want to post this? Do we not? We have a conversation about it, like, ‘You want to post this or we keep this to ourselves?’”
She also adds to her explanation, “We know there are people that love and support us and want to see us,” she says. “So [we want to] give just enough, but keep the majority of it just for us. We’re trying to find a balance.”
