Berry is a fan of the 25-year-old and recently expressed interest in working alongside her, stating she’d proudly portray her mother and has already devised a way to make it happen in a Variety interview.
“I have a plan,” the 55-year-old shares. “I would love to play her mother. I have an idea because I think she’s the future.”
It didn’t take long for plot submissions to start pouring in on Black Twitter once word got out that the Academy Award-winning actress would jump at the chance to work alongside Coleman. Users suggested everything from a parody of Losing Isaiah to fantasy and sci-fi genres and everything in between.
One fan jokingly tweeted, “Losing Zendaya.”
Another Twitter user suggested to Berry that the two actresses do a fantasy-based film.
“How about some fantasy for a change,” one fan asked. “Halle is descended from a secret coven of New Orleans witches but since left that life…Zendaya is raised with no knowledge of her mother’s powers/history until hers kick in at school.”
Another person tweeted, “I’m thinking Heartbreakers ish… black wealthy college educated live in Beverly Park… mother and daughter duo find out the her (halle’s) husband is cheating and they decided to drain him of all of his money liquidate his assets and she find s new love remarried the end.”
Previously, the Losing Isaiah actress raved about her admiration for Zendaya’s talent and prophesied big things for her future.
“She’s brave, not afraid to take chances, authentic and wildly beautiful,” Berry explains.
“She’s not afraid not to be beautiful. I see her as an actress who will fight to be greater than her beauty. She’s not relying on it. She’s working hard as an actor, and she will take risks. I think she will surprise us along the way.”
