On May 8th, Lamar stunned fans by releasing “The Heart Part 5”. Along with a music video that transforms the rapper’s visage into O.J. Simpson, Kanye West, Jussie Smollett, Kobe Bryant, Will Smith, and Nipsey Hussle.
The latest part in Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart” song series samples Marvin Gaye’s famous 1976 song “I Want You,” while the visual features Lamar morphing into those pop culture personalities, including Nipsey, who Kendrick raps from in his third verse.
“I wake up that morning with more heart to give you,” Kendrick spits. “As I bleed through the speakers, feel my presence. To my brother, to my kids, I’m in Heaven. To my mother, to my sis, I’m in Heaven. To my father, to my wife, I am serious, this is Heaven. To my friends, make sure you countin’ them blessings. To my fans, make sure you make them investments.”
He continues.
“I seen the pain in your pupil when that trigger had squeezed… And though you did me gruesome, I was surely relieved. I completed my mission, wasn’t ready to leave. But fulfilled my days, my Creator was pleased.”
London, who began dating Hussle back in 2013, shared the video with the caption “Powerful art” on her Instagram story.

Hussle and London dated for five years before welcoming their son, Kross Ermias Asghedom, in 2016.
“When you have this plan for your life, as you should, if or when that gets derailed, and you have plan B now to go off that you didn’t plan on, it is the ultimate test of surrender,” she said.
She added that she’s learned to go with the flow and “surrender” while managing her grief.
Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside his Marathon Clothing store on the infamous Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue location that Neighborhood Nip occupied on March 21, 2019. He was 33.
