Halle Berry has been the object of Black Culture’s affection since her early appearances in Strictly Business (1991) and Boomerang (1992). And, long before her acting days, Ms. Berry was serving face, body, and personality in the beauty pageant world.

And, sis isn’t afraid to use her platform to advocate for Black Hollywood. Remember her acceptance speech when she made history becoming the first Black woman to win an Oscar for her performance in Monster’s Ball (2001)? Although over a decade later, she said — in an interview with Elaine Welteroth for Teen Vogue — that historic win was meaningless.
