John Legend announced via Twitter that he would live stream a concert performance from his home on Tuesday, March 17. “My friend Chris Martin did a lovely little concert from home today,” Legend tweeted. “I’ll be doing one tomorrow at 1pm Pacific time, See you soon. We’ll try to get through this together! #TogetherAtHome.” Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, replied back saying, “I’ll be there!! because I literally have no choice.”

Legend said fans can expect new music this year and previewed one his new songs, “Actions Speak Louder Than Love Songs,” during the live stream. Legend wrapped up the performance by asking fans to suggest other artists to “pass the torch to.”

Lizzo led a 30-minute mass meditation on Friday, March 13. The singer’s Houston Rodeo conert performance was also canceled due to the virus. So, she opted to give a 30-minute live performance on her Instagram Live instead. She entertained fans by playing with her flute and offereing words of encouragement. “Fear does not exist in my body,” the singer proclaimed. “Fear does not exist in my home. Love exists in my body. Ciara and Russell Wilson donated one million meals to the Seattle-based food banks supported by Food Lifeline. “We can all make a difference together. Let’s all keep the faith during this difficult time,” Ciara posted on her Instagram page.

The couple plans to support Feeding America as well as a local food bank. “Oakland just announced they’re closing schools until April because of the COVID-19 crisis,” Ayesha posted in on Instagram. “While we support this decision, we’re scared about what this means for childhood hunger in our hometown. More than 18,000 students in Oakland rely on their school for 2+ meals each day and our foundation @eatlearnplay is making a donation to @aacfb and @feedingamerica to help ensure no child has to worry about where their next meal is coming from while schools are closed.”

Broadway stars such as Jelani Alladin have taken to Twitter to raise money for furloughed actors in a viral hand-washing video challenge. The theater industry has been hit hard by venue closures and show cancellations. And, for many actors, no shows means no paychecks. The #BWayHandWashChallenge calls for Broadway stars to choose a theater charity, sing a show tune while washing their hands for 20 seconds, and then nominate three other members of the Broadway community to participate in the challenge.
