We all started medical school last summer, not sure of what it would entail but determined nonetheless to succeed. The African American male presence in medicine is rare, and we knew that we were blessed with the opportunity to be on this journey together. Understanding that there are many minorities who aspire to pursue a career in medicine we decided to start a YouTube channel to create an authentic experience for them and show them that medicine is possible. Representation matters, and often times you do not know who you can be until you see someone you relate to in that position. We are normal people who do what the average 25 year olds would do in Houston, Seattle, and New York.. we just happen to be in medical school. Decided to do an unconventional check up on my son Que at the park today. Que will be 11yrs old in a few months and while he looks great for his age, I have noticed him display a few characteristics that let me know he is approaching his “golden years”. Que has been around for a while and like any pet owner, I’d like to keep it that way! I advise all pet owners to continue getting rountine check ups when their pets enter their senior ages (7+). It is especially important for these checkups to include blood work, urinalysis, wholebody radiographs with annual dental cleanings once diagnostic results are clear and anesthesia is approved by your Veterinarian.
