The American Music Awards 2022 finally took place yesterday, Sunday, November 20th, 2022. A star-studded lineup of prominent artists in the music industry and beyond attended the annual fan-voted awards award ceremony at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, where several artists took home awards for their achievements. Wayne Brady served as the ceremony’s presenter, and other performers included Stevie Wonder, Ari Lennox, GloRilla, Lil Baby, Tems, Wizkid, and many more. D-Nice served as the event’s house DJ. Throughout the night, musical titans Beyonce, Future, Kendrick Lamar, and Wizkid took home awards. Check out the list of winners below.

1. Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist

Kendrick Lamar had a big night during the 2022 AMA Awards.

The Compton native took home the ‘Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist Award.’

2. Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist

Nicki Minaj scored big as she won the ‘Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist Award.’

Congrats to the rap veteran!

3. Favorite Hip-Hop Album

Kendrick Lamar won this category for his latest album entitled Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.

If you haven’t heard the album, you’re missing out big time!

4. "Wait For You" Wins Favorite Hip-Hop Song

Future, Drake, and Tems were the winners of the ‘Favorite Hip-Hop Song’ category!

Chris Brown who was scheduled to attend/perform for the 40th Anniversary of Michael Jackson’s Thriller won the ‘Favorite Male R&B Singer’ award.

6. Favorite Female R&B Singer

Queen Bey snatched this award, adding to the several awards that she won throughout the night. She also won the ‘Favorite R&B Album’ award.

7. "Essence" Wins Favorite R&B Song

Wizkid and Tems couldn’t be stopped as they won the ‘Favorite R&B Song’ category!

8. Favorite Afrobeats Artist

Congratulations are in order for Wizkid who had a terrific night at the 2022 AMAs!

He also won for ‘Favorite Afrobeats Artist.’

9. Favorite Gospel Artist

The phenomenal Tamela Mann won the ‘Favorite Gospel Award.’

Listening to Tamela sing, we can feel the spirit of God in the room!

10. Overall, Taylor Swift Wins Big

Taylor Swift championed the 2022 AMA Awards as she won ‘Artist of the Year,’ ‘Favorite Music Video,’ ‘Favorite Female Pop Artist,’ ‘Favorite Pop Album,’ ‘Favorite Female Country Artist,’ and the ‘Favorite Country Album’ awards.
