Ingredients

  • 2 cups of black eyed beans (soaked overnight)
  • 1- 2 scotch bonnet pepper
  • 1 medium onion, blended smooth
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon EssieSpice Coco-For -Garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoons EssieSpice Mango- Chili- Medley sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups of coconut oil

Instructions

Preparation: 1.Blend the soaked black beans with scotch bonnet, onion, salt and ginger paste. 2.Add the Essie Spice Mango Chili Medley and Coco For Garlic and mix. Add the eggs and mix to form a uniform mixture. 3.Heat the coconut oil to 350 degrees. Once it comes up to temperature, scoop the dough with an ice cream scoop or a utensil that will shape them into round balls. Fry the akara until golden brown.
