Bourbon Sweet Potato Mash | Just Eats With Chef JJ

Instructions
Ingredients:
- 3 Large Yams or Sweet Potatoes, cut into cubes
- 2 tbsp kosher salt
- ½ cup Heavy Cream
- 2 tbsp Maple syrup
- 1½ tbsp Bourbon
- ½ tsp Garlic powder
- ¼ tsp Cumin
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tbs dark brown sugar
Method:
- Place the cubed yams in a large pot of cold water, then add the kosher salt to the water. Bring to a boil and cook until fork-tender, then drain.
- Return the yams to the pot or a glass bowl and pour in the heavy cream. Begin mashing until the desired smoothness is reached. Stir in the maple syrup and mix well.
- Add the bourbon while the potatoes are still steaming hot. Mix in the garlic powder and the cumin, and mix well.
- Next, stir in the cinnamon and mix well. Fold in the dark brown sugar, then continue mixing until all flavors are combined. Serve and enjoy.
- **(optional) If you want to add a buttery taste, add 2 tbs of unsalted butter to the hot mashed sweet potatoes and mix well.
