Deep Dish French Toast Recipe
Chef JJ is taking us back to his Harlem roots by sharing his Aunt Jeannie’s fried chicken recipe. When combined with his deep-dish French toast, it’s truly a match made in heaven.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf brioche, cubed
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch salt
- 2 cups of milk
- Butter for greasing
- Maple Syrup for serving
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl whisk together the eggs, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and milk. Add in the cubed brioche and mix together until the liquid has been absorbed into the bread. Pour the mixture into a medium cast iron pan greased with butter and bake until golden brown and puffy. Serve with maple syrup.
