In this episode Bren makes some of her favorite comfort food. Picks up some special houseware items and lays out a great meal. Caribbean Oxtail with Yucca and Swiss Chard and Arroz con Pollo and taro chips with mint and garlic relish.

Bren celebrates the flavors of Latin American cuisine. She cooks up Seafood Monfongo a Puerto Rican dish. Then it’s a spicy Churasco with Chimichurri and Grilled Graffiti Eggplant.

Bren is joined in the kitchen with her mom, The dynamic duo make a Garbanzo con Chorizo and Butternut Squash. Then they top things off with a tender Filet Mignon with a brown sauce.

Donovan starts dating an older woman named Rebecca and everything is going fine until he attempts to set Nick and J.T. up with her friends. Rita and Shelly compete in a martial arts class after Rita turns out to be more adept.

When a potential wheelchair buyer accidentally catches her using a handicapped parking spot, Shelly decides to pretend being disabled. Nick and J.T. put up house rules for their new roommate, Rita.

When Shelly and Rita's stepmother Lucy fight, it is up to Shelly to swallow her pride and be the first one to apologize, to guarantee Rita getting some financial help. Nick tries to make a pass at Shelly when he learns J.T. slept with his ex-girlfriend in college.

Shelley agrees to a "mercy date" when a younger man named Grant asks her out, but the evening turns into a romantic attraction. Nick declares Z Lounge's Ladies Night discriminatory and demands that Donovan give the guys equal attention at the club.

Nick and J.T. suspect Donovan keeping a secret from them. Rita and Shelly discover that Janie had a fling with Troy and now it's time for them to teach Janie that she can't give the lectures on right and wrong anymore.

Shelly tries to impress Grant by cooking dinner for him, but she then decides to enlist her friends to help her in the kitchen. J.T. and Nick's year-old satellite radio stops working, so they turn to a variety of customer service reps based in India.

When Coleman's hair salon is suddenly shut down, Shelly and the girls decides to let him set up his business in their shop, but they regret the decision as soon as Coleman starts taking over DivaStyle. Also, the gang learns a secret about Donovan after an immigration raid on Z Lounge.

Grant tells Shelly about taking an HIV test because he's ready to take their relationship to the next level, and his brave thing encourages the entire gang to get tested too. J.T. realizes he's still in love with Shelly. Donovan learns his request for residency in USA has been denied, and he must leave the country within 30 days.

Shelly questions her relationship when Grant takes her to a surprising camping trip. Rita and Janie try to spend more time with Donovan, but their attempt is put aback when Nick and he get invited to a swimsuit model party. Meanwhile, J.T. decides to confess his love to Shelly.

J.T. spots Janie and Grant at a jewelry store buying an engagement ring for Shelly, so he's faced with a tough decision, and after consulting with his parents and friends, J.T. decides to also propose at Shelly's birthday party. Donovan tries to avoid tearful goodbyes, so he leaves and discusses future plans with a cab driver.

Shelly has to decide between two marriage proposals, by J.T. and Grant. Donovan, who skipped his flight back to England, is now living as an illegal citizen and he has to decide what to do with his life.

An excited Shelly starts planning her wedding to J.T., but an unexpected visit from her mother might make her rethink the decision she made. Meanwhile, J.T. gets accepted to medical school. Donovan finds a way to stay in the U.S. as a legal citizen

Mona, a self-reliant record executive, is set to move into the penthouse apartment that her father has always promised her. But her plans of getting settled in her new apartment soon come to an end when she learns that her spoiled half sister, Dee Dee, and Dee Dee's overbearing mother also lay claim to the apartment. The sisters' relationship is further strained when Dee Dee inadvertently attracts a man whom Mona was pining for.

When Dee Dee befriends Spencer, Mona becomes concerned that her sister is stealing her best friend. Meanwhile, Mona leads Dee Dee and Spencer into believing she is still dating Brian the exterminator even though he hasn't called her after their very hot date.

Dee Dee attempts to get closer to Mona by planning a joint birthday party, reminding Mona of bad memories from their childhood. Meanwhile, Dee Dee unwittingly reveals that Phyllis lied to Mona about things that have shaped her world view since she was young; and, as a birthday gift, Phyllis finally tells Mona the truth.

Mona's music-video shoot for a rapper may end in disaster when he refuses to leave the dressing room—until he meets Dee Dee. While Mona is pleased with the rapper's newfound enthusiasm for the shoot, she soon begins to worry that he's using Dee Dee.

In an attempt to win Mona's respect and stop living off her father's largesse, Dee Dee takes a job as a waitress. Meanwhile, Phyllis persuades Mona to give a video-dating service a try.

Dee Dee persuades Mona to attend a banquet that's being held in honor of their father, but the experience reminds Mona that she's the odd one out within her dad's "new" family.

While at a club with Spencer, Mona meets the hunky Miles. They hit it off, but their budding romance quickly trips up over matters of taste: For one, she enjoys Dawson's Creek, while he prefers BET. After a night on the dance floor, where Mona displays her lack of rhythm, Miles breaks up with her for not being "black enough." In an attempt to win him back, Mona remakes herself into what Dee Dee calls "a Nubian disco queen."

Dee Dee is smitten with her new beau, but the romance sours when she learns that he and Mona dated in high school. Although Mona gives her blessing to the union, she soon changes her mind.

Dee Dee invites Mona to a "girls night" with her friends, but Mona instantly feels out of place amidst the ritzy women. When Dee Dee gives Mona an expensive purse, Mona deduces that her half-sister is trying to make her over. Meanwhile, Spencer is attracted to one of Dee Dee's friends.

Mona and Phyllis attend Thanksgiving dinner at Big Dee Dee's, where Mona's grandmother is the guest of honor. But Dee Dee becomes jealous when she learns the older woman showers Mona with affection. Meanwhile, Phyllis and Big Dee Dee make a deal; and Spencer blurts out one of Mona's secrets to her mother.

When Mona and Dee Dee set Spencer up on blind date with a woman they met from the gym, Spencer falls for her hard and fast. But when Mona finds out the girl is only using Spencer to get back at her ex, she tries to warn him -- only he thinks Mona is jealous.

When Dee Dee becomes frustrated with Neil because he does not seem interested in getting intimate, he divulges that he is celibate. Meanwhile, Mona is under pressure at work and takes up smoking again, but she is too embarrassed to admit it and tries to hide it from her family.

Robert and Neesee struggle to deal with a letter that he wrote her four years earlier; Bobby discovers a hair.

Neesee hosts a charity bachelor auction where she bids on a date with an eligible, handsome and rich doctor(Charles Malik Whitfield) but the date doesn't go as she planned. Robert pays Neesee to bid on him, so he can avoid going on a random date, but a mystery woman outbids her. Meanwhile, Bobby goes on a "date" with Dirk, when he is the only one to bid on him.

Neesee finds a new condo to move into, but Robert finds out that it's still under construction and won't be completed for a while. Robert's sister comes for a visit and asks to stay at the house.

Robert decides to take Bobby to the police station as a punishment for prank calling 911. However, he is the one that ends up behind bars after a secret about something he did in the past resurfaces.

Mel and Malena's neighbor Mark announces that Deborah is pregnant. With the overly ambitious help of her assistant, Lana, Malena plans a celebration and forces the guys to come too. To Sheri's surprise, Dean has a great time looking at the cute gifts of children's clothing and choosing baby names with Deborah.
