Who’s ready to see SZA on the big screen?! We know we are!

According to Deadline, the CTRL singer will make her big-screen debut in a forthcoming movie written and directed by Eddie Huang.

She will appear in the film, which is being made by Scooter Braun’s SB Projects and Ryder Picture Company, together with Huang and Chloe Cherry from HBO’s hit series Euphoria.

“Can’t believe I got the part I wanted. She’s an actress,” the 32-year-old singer wrote on her Instagram stories back in December of last year.

According to the publication, the upcoming film is described as an updated Pulp Fiction meets High Fidelity.

In the darkly humorous film, Huang will portray a hitman who meets his true love, portrayed by SZA, after completing a job.

After the release of his debut film, Boogie starring the late Pop Smoke in April 2021, Huang teased a new script he had written in an interview with Complex. It appears that this script was Tuna Melt.

“I did write a script and I basically want to make a Hong Kong gangster film set in L.A., shot in that style, done in that way, but with a very L.A. character, Asian American,” Huang expressed. “Rolling around Mid-City and Inglewood, and all those things. I think there’s going to be a lot of fun. That’s a film I want to make.”

Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir, his autobiographical book, was turned into a popular ABC comedy series with the same name that ran for six seasons and concluded in 2020.

Huang has also hosted cuisine programs like Cheap Bites & Unique Eats and Huang’s World. He is currently slated to create and executive produce Panda, a one-hour Showtime drama on the late ’90s pressed pill craze.

We can’t wait to see the film! Will you be watching it, let us know below.
