Dionne Warwick wants Teyana Taylor to play her in biopic

Among many things that occurred in 2020, Dionne Warwick joining Twitter has to be at the top of the list. While the soul singer joined Twitter in October 2012, this year, her tweets have been setting the Black Twitter ablaze — often making some head-scratching but highly entertaining tweets. From questioning The Weeknd’s spelling of his name to causing Chance the Rapper to fan out over her, Auntie Dionne has become a multiple-time trending topic on Twitter, likely garnering a new fanbase.

That brings us to one of her recent tweets. Warwick took to her new favorite social platform to tell the world that she’d “obviously” want Teyana Taylor to play her in a biopic.

In a tweet, Auntie posted a video asking her fans if they’d watch a Netflix series of her. In the caption, she said, “This is a case for @netflix. Please don’t ask who I would cast to play me as it would obviously be @TEYANATAYLOR.”

She continued in another tweet by posting a picture of Taylor, and said, “It runs in the family.”

Teyana Taylor seemed excited about the possibility to play Warwick in the biopic.

While the two are not related, they share similar features. Both women have beautiful cheekbones, full lips, and almond-shaped eyes.

Besides looking alike, how dope is it to have a legendary artist request you to play her in a biopic? Taylor, who recently announced her retirement from music, definitely won’t be disappearing from the public eye anytime soon. On her birthday, Taylor announced her partnership with the clothing line Pretty Little Thing.

And, if Dionne Warwick biopic comes to fruition, we may see her making another big move. Music isn’t completely over for the multi-talented artist.
