Naomi Osaka continues making big moves! The tennis phenom has linked up with Mattel as the most recent athlete to join the Barbie doll family. Osaka took to her social media accounts to announce the news and share her excitement about getting her very own Barbie Role Model Naomi Osaka Doll.

“Teamed up with Barbie back in 2019, but this time it’s officially official because today I’m introducing the Barbie Role Model Naomi Osaka doll,” she captioned in an Instagram post. “I really hope every child is reminded that they can be and do anything. This is really seeing a dream of mine come to life, having your own Barbie and potentially seeing little kids playing with it. Omg.”

Osaka first worked with the Mattel brand back in 2019 when she was honored as a one-of-a-kind shero for the brand’s 60th anniversary. However, fans weren’t able to get their hands on the toy then. Now, the doll is available for all to purchase for $29.99 on Amazon and Barbie Mattel.

The Barbie may look familiar to some. The Role Model Naomi Osaka Barbie doll is donning Naomi’s 2020 Australian Open outfit. The doll looks absolutely fierce (just like Osaka did) in a red, white, and blue Nike tank top and matching shorts, a white tennis skirt, and light blue Nike kicks. The doll also comes equipped with a Yonex tennis racket, a white Nike visor, and voluminous curls.

Osaka hopes the collaboration with Mattel inspires and encourages young girls to go after their goals.

“It’s such an honor to be a part of the Barbie Role Model series and to remind young girls that they can make a difference in the world,” Osaka said in a press release. “I want young girls everywhere to feel empowered to dream big and to know that if they believe in themselves that anything is possible!”

Ahead of the doll release, Osaka made headlines for dropping out of the French Open and Wimbledon to prioritize her mental health.

Among all the wonderful things Osaka has popping, she is also set to represent Japan at the Tokyo Olympics this month. In addition, she is teaming up with Netflix for a miniseries titled Naomi Osaka, which premiers on July 16th.
