Gabrielle Union is exiting NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” (AGT) after being a judge on the show for just one season, Today reported.

“Today initially confirmed that Union would be busy working on “other projects.”

However, according to LoveBScott.com, Union was fired from AGT after speaking out against racism and sexism on the show.

“[Gabrielle’s] contract was not renewed after being the #1 talent on the show, NBC and network TV,” an NBC source allegedly told LoveBScott.com. “She set the record for her Golden Buzzer. They only replace the women and Blacks at Simon’s whim. She wouldn’t walk away from $12 million because she’s ‘busy.'”

Back in 2017, Canon took to Facebook to air his frustrations with show executives saying he was “threatened with termination by executives” after he made a racial joke about NBC on a stand-up comedy special. He ultimately quit the show over the drama.

“The idea the network wants to ‘switch things up’ only applies to women and Black folks,” the source continued. “Nick Cannon wasn’t crazy. He walked away from 8-figures over how [AGT] operates.”

Fellow AGT judge, Julianne Hough, also will not be returning for the next season. Both judges replaced longtime judges Heidi Klum and Mel B. There’s no word on who will be replacing Union and Hough, but judges Terry Crews, Howie Mandel, and Simon Cowell will be returning for the 15th season.

While Gabrielle Union has not publicly commented on her departure, she’s remaining booked and busy with her other projects. She’s currently starring in “L.A.’s Finest,” a spin-off series of the “Bad Boys” franchise, alongside Jessica Alba on Spectrum Originals. She also debuted an exclusive holiday collection with New York & Company. And she collaborated with Amazon to create an Active Lifestyle Gift Guide for the holidays.
