Sweet and Spicy Blackened Catfish | New Soul Kitchen

Ingredients
- 2 pounds catfish filets
- 2 Tbs Olive Oil
Instructions
For Blackening Spice: 2 Tbs Chili Powder 2 Tbs Garlic Powder 2 Tbs Onion Powder 2 Tbs thyme 1 Tbs Cajun Seasoning Salt to taste Pepper to taste For Thai Chili Sauce: 2 Tbs Dark Soy 2 Tbs Honey ¼ cup Thai Chili sauce ½ cup hot sauce 1. In a medium size bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, Cajun seasoning and salt and pepper to taste. (set aside) 2. In another bowl, mix the dark soy, honey, thai chili sauce, and hot sauce together and mix well. 3. Lay your catfish on a plate and season both sides with the blackening spice. Next season both sides with the sweet and spicy thai chili sauce and allow to sit while your oven and skillet get hot. 4. Preheat the oven at 400 degrees while oven is heating, place a large cast iron skillet coated with olive oil over medium high heat, place the fish in the skillet and allow to cook on one side for 3-4 minutes. 5. Removed cast iron skillet from the heat and place in the over for 5-6 minutes. Remove from oven and serve.
