Black Twitter went off when T.I. said he accompanies his 18-year-old daughter, Deyjah Harris, to her gynecological exam each year to test that her “hymen is still in tact.” He bragged that he tells the doctor, “just check the hymen, please, and give me back my results expeditiously.”

In a podcast interview — now deleted — with Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham on “Ladies Like Us,” T.I. discussed his approach for having the “sex talk” with his daughter. “Not only have we had the conversation — we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen,” he said.

Twitter users were quick to fire back.

One user noted checking a daughter’s hymen is a waste of time.

There are so many ways to break or loosen a hymen from riding a bike, twerking with your girls, or playing sports. Ever done a split and thought you ripped your pants? That could’ve been your hymen instead!

While T.I.’s daughter hasn’t released an official response, she alluded to how she feels about the backlash through a recent Twitter post.

Following social media blasts, the hosts apologized in an Instagram statement for the offensive conversation and deleted the episode.
