Lori Harvey said she’s “got this” when it comes to dating who she wants when she wants.
As dating rumors of Lori and Future resurfaced over the weekend, an old clip of Lori’s mom, Marjorie Harvey, is also trending. In a 2015 clip on the “Steve Harvey Show,” Marjorie advised her daughter not to date guys like Future – rappers and athletes.
“I know you just started dating this year,” she told then-18-year-old Lori. “So, how are we gonna handle that? No athletes, no rappers – we gonna go down the list.”
She also hinted that Lori should save herself for marriage.
“Always be a lady, and understand you are the prize. Don’t give yourself to anybody that is not going to be your husband. If they love you – if they really care about you, they’ll wait on you.”
Moms know best, right!? Well, Lori doesn’t seem to think so — at least not as it pertains to who she dates.
“When it comes to dating, my mom has nothing to worry about,” she said on the show. “I got this.”

Since then, Lori has been living her Hot Girl Summer life and has been linked to the type of men her mom advised her not to date. After calling off her engagement in 2017 to professional soccer player, Memphis Depay, she’s been linked to Trey Songz, Future, Meek Mill, Sean “Diddy” Combs and his son Justin Combs, Lewis Hamilton — and Future, AGAIN.

Yes, her latest rumored boo thing is Future. Lori and the rapper, who were rumored to have first dated in December 2018, sparked romance rumors again over the weekend when he shared a photo of her on his Instagram story.
The caption read, “Flawless. Tap for details.”

Future also shared a video of himself riding in his car with Lori by his side, in the passenger seat.
The posts aren’t the first time the pair been spotted together recently:
- Back in October, although Lori and Future were not captured to together, they both posted similar locations on their Instagram pages.
- On Nov. 15, they were spotted getting cozy at Teyanna Taylor’s performance at the Red Bull Music Festival in Atlanta.
- Then, on Nov. 20, Lori attended Future’s all-white 36th birthday party in Atlanta. A video on The Shade Room showed Lori recording Future on her phone as party guests sang Happy Birthday to him.
Now this. Though they’ve been spending time together, neither has confirmed that they’re an item.
Some people have criticized Lori for “hopping from man to man,” but many have praised her for being a single, independent woman who dates who she wants when she wants.
Dating a guy like Future may not be everything mom hoped for, but as Lori said, she’s “got this.”
