Lena Waithe and Alana Mayo have called it quits.
The news comes just two months after they announced they secretly married. The Chi creator and Mayo shared the news in a joint-statement on Wednesday evening to E! News.
“After careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways,” the statement read. “We have nothing but support for one another and ask that you respect our privacy during this time.”
The news has stirred up infidelity rumors as the cause of their split. According to lovebscott.com, an exclusive source revealed that their relationship was on the rocks well before tying the knot.
“Even after they married, Lena was still buying designer gifts — Chanel, Gucci — for other women,” the source alleged.
In November, the couple announced that they had secretly wed in an interview with John Legend on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
