Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson revealed he and his family contracted COVID-19. In a video statement posted to Instagram on Wednesday (September 2), the actor and former wrestler shared his journey in recovering from the virus, lessons learned, and advice for others to consider.

The Rock revealed he and his family contracted the virus from close family and friends. Johnson was on lockdown since March and said he thought he did a great job of protecting his family. However, when they learned that they tested positive for the virus, he came to terms with some key takeaways that he urged viewers to consider to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Of course, people want their family and friends to visit them during this time, but he encouraged viewers to apply an “even greater discipline” for inviting people to their home. He shared rules that he’s implementing moving forward.

“If you guys are having family and friends over to your house — you know them, you trust them, they’ve been quarantining just like you guys — you still never know,” the Rock said.

He encouraged viewers to take an aggressive measure by having anyone who visits their home tested before making contact with them.
